While Champion Road and Nova aren\u2019t the only teams that have withdrawn from the bracket ahead of the tournament, they\u2019re the only ones whose reasons for doing so are unknown.<\/p>\n<p>The 2025 World Championship is a big moment for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pockettactics.com\/pokemon-unite\">Pok\u00e9mon Unite<\/a>, as it\u2019s the first time in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pockettactics.com\/free-pokemon-games\">free Pok\u00e9mon game<\/a>\u2019s history that the finals are taking place on Championship Sunday, alongside VGC, TCG, and Go. At the end of July, the Unite eSports account announced the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/UniteEsports\/status\/1948780826931454386\">31 qualified teams<\/a> and their respective groups for day one of the competition, but since then, four teams have dropped, leaving Group F with just two teams competing.<\/p>\n<p>Peru\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CapyGohan04\/status\/1952934603972317691?t=nFgXNLFjdsDwzQZ8-X8RnA&amp;s=19\">Infamous<\/a> withdrew from the tournament due to visa issues, and South Korea\u2019s newly-formed <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/w545542\/status\/1953093449844179210?s=46&amp;t=h9lmYPqnMRjk_2iR0JTbzA\">LastDance<\/a> backed out due to lack of synergy and in-fighting, but it\u2019s still unclear why China\u2019s Nova and Champion Road will not be competing. <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/poke_unite_jp\/status\/1955185156060508633\">Japan\u2019s Pok\u00e9mon Unite account<\/a> simply cites \u201cvarious circumstances\u201d [machine translation], grouping the two with LastDance.
