Because of its qualification through the LCQ, the organisation has earned the <a href=\"https:\/\/esportsworldcup.com\/en\/achievements\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jafonso Award<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-68af070d87180\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n<p>Named after <strong>Jo\u00e3o \u2018Jafonso\u2019 Vasconcelos<\/strong>, who won last year\u2019s EA SPORTS FC tournament after advancing through LCQ, the award was created to celebrate teams that achieve a similar feat. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"esi-heading-68af070d87853\" class=\"esi-heading \">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span id=\"how_team_falcons_won_owcs_mid-season_championship-2\">How Team Falcons Won OWCS Mid-Season Championship<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-68af070d87f06\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n<p>Team Falcons qualified through the Group Stage with a 2-0 win\/loss ratio and a 5-2 map win\/loss, topping its group as it entered the Playoffs. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-68af070d8855f\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n<p>It began the <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/MpqQeoPGi6M?si=WdngPCf5jl-sldKS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Quarter-Finals<\/a> with a narrow 3-2 win against Geekay Esports on August 2nd, dominating on maps such as New Junk City while struggling in Circuit Royal. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-68af070d88b59\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n<p>In the <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/MZ6EfH5CTrE?si=Ba22f8eSi0n2A_XY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Semi-Finals<\/a> the following day, Team Falcons defeated T1 3-1, gaining an early lead in the first two rounds before earning a landslide win in Colosseo during round four.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-68af070d8921c\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n<p>Al Qadsiah, a team that also recorded impressive performances so far in the tournament, became the team\u2019s final opponent in the <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/_T12LPHN7cw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grand Finals<\/a>.
