No matter if you grew up with Disney princesses, like to stick a little bit of Disney Plus on your TV, or have simply enjoyed going to Disney World before, the company has impacted most of our lives. If you’ve somehow escaped, that is genuinely impressive, but the announcement that Disney Illusion Island is free on Nintendo Switch 2 for a limited amount of time will surely break you down.
Starting October 29 at 10am PT and ending just before midnight on November 4, you’ll be able to download and play the platformer for free. This is as long as you live in the US, Canada, or Mexico, and have a subscription to Nintendo Switch Online, a service that allows you to play online multiplayer. It’s a simple process – just head into the eShop, and find Disney Illusion Island under the Nintendo Switch Online tab on the left-hand side. You might as well do this, because a free game is worth checking out, and because Nintendo is offering 100 Platinum Points for doing so, which you can use to redeem goodies.
You play as Mickey, Minnie, Donald, or Goofy – or all four if you have friends or family to play with. Traverse the island by swinging, leaping, wall-jumping, and ground-pounding your way through puzzles, obstacles, and enemies. Don’t get it twisted, though – whoever you control has no way to attack, so this is not a game for combat lovers. Think of it more as a Super Mario Bros. style situation, where you use your surroundings (or your feet) to eliminate those who try to stand in your way.
