As a Mass Effect nerd, this is what I want to see on N7 Day
I love Mass Effect. To this day, it remains one of my all-time favorite franchises, so it should come as no surprise that I eagerly anticipate N7 Day (November 7) every year. Recently, I replayed the trilogy with Mass Effect Legendary Edition, and I even took a trip to Andromeda, as well. So, I have some thoughts on things I’d love to see BioWare or EA announce for N7 Day on Friday.
First and foremost, I want some news on the elusive Mass Effect 5. Besides The Witcher 4, the upcoming RPG is easily my most anticipated game, yet we know precious little about it, save for our favorite Asari, Liara T’Soni, making a welcome comeback. I’m nervous for ME5, knowing that it’s more than likely going to make or break BioWare as we know it today.
EA deemed Dragon Age: The Veilguard a failure, which puts a lot of pressure on the BioWare team to perform with Mass Effect 5. The developer is one of my favorite studios, and I hate to see it struggle almost as much as I abhor Electronic Arts’ disdain for fantasy games (you might hate DA for some reason, but remasters of the first three games would print money, EA, trust me). However, catching a glimpse of the new game may alleviate some of my fears. That, and I just think a fresh peek at the game is long overdue.
